Abstract

612,761. Balancing devices. WALL, V. G. June 1, 1946, No. 16697. [Class 78 (ii)] A platform 11 is suspended at each side from a pair of cables 9, 10 to the other end of which is attached counterweight 12. The placing of a tier of goods on the platform causes it to descend and the counterweight 12 to ascend till it contacts counterweight 13 when the system stops. The placing of a second tier of goods causes the platform to descend again till the next counterweight 14 is contacted by counterweight 13. Upon removal of a tier the platform rises likewise by steps. The top layer of goods may be arranged at the floor level. The counterweights may be equal in weight.
