[Class 70] A rubber tree rain guard comprises a belt 12, or 20, a projecting hood 11, or 17, extending downwardly and outwardly over the tapping cut and secured to or forming part of the belt and means for securing the belt to the tree. The hood may be of any waterproof material and may have a strengthening support 18. The belt, if not itself resilient, has a resilient cushion 19 giving a watertight fitting to the tree. The securing means may comprise wires 21 bent in various ways, the ends of which bite into the bark of the. tree. The parts of the guard may be separate units and joined together by an adhesive or cement, or the complete guard may be moulded or extruded in one piece.
