Abstract

A personal deodorant and anti-perspirant preparation comprises a water-soluble protein coagulating metallic salt and a basic reagent consisting of an amino or aminelike compound which will combine in situ with the acid radical of the said salt to form a substance possessing cationic bacteriostatic or bacteriocidal properties. Preferred metallic salts are aluminium sulphate, chloride or acetate and preferred amines or the like are cetyl trimethyl ammonia hydroxide, hydroxyethyl heptadecenyl glyoxalidine and lauryl pyridine. The example relates to a mixture of diethylene glycol monostearate, diethylene glycol distearate, ceresin, n-propenyl allophanate, hydroxyethyl heptadecenyl glyoxalidine, aluminium sulphate, perfume and water.
