Abstract
656,433. Dispensing beverages. HUGHES, S. J. M. Jan. 12, 1949, No. 827. [Class 116] In apparatus for dispensing beverages such as beer and including one or more pumps each having an operating handle and a pipe for delivering liquid there are disposed at a level below the discharge pipe or pipes a first tray or trough 5 to collect recoverable liquid and a second tray or trough 6 to receive waste. The bottom of the tray 5 may be concave and may be suitably connected from its lowest point to a vessel whereby liquid that has overflowed into the tray may be recovered, and it may have a perforated member to support vessels being filled. The bottom of the tray 6 slopes downwards towards one end 7 at which is an outlet 8 through which waste liquid that has been poured into this tray may be drained away. The tray 5 is next to the apparatus and the tray 6 removably attached to it by having its rear side 11 hook-shaped at the top and supported by the front edge of the tray 5.
