Abstract
655,119. Automatic exchange equipment. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and LONG, D. P. April 30, 1948, No. 11838. [Class 40 (iv)] In an impulse counter comprising a highspeed relay PX, a chain of counting relays CA, CB and a common impulsing circuit, and wherein in order to prevent one impulse from operating more than one counting relay the high speed relay is actuated by a transient condition obtaining during the operating movement of a counting relay to open the impulsing circuit, the high-speed relay is energized over two metallic circuits during the period between the closing of the impulsing circuit and the occurrence of the transient condition, one of the metallic circuits being independent of the impulsing circuit. As shown in Fig. 1, the relay PX operates when the starting contact b is closed and, when the impulsing contact p closes, is energized over resistance YB and also over the winding I of relay CA until the closure of an early contact ca1 releases it. As shown in Fig. 2, relay PX has two opposed windings I, II and, on the closure of the impulsing contact p, winding I is energized in series with a counting relay and winding II in series with a coil RC similar to a counting relay. During the operation of the counting relay, winding I is shunted and PX opens the impulsing circuit.
