Abstract

Titanium dioxide is added to synthetic vulcanized rubber in a form which is shown by the crystallogram to be entirely or for the greater part rutile. In an example, a mix consisting of a butadiene-acrylonitrile polymer, tricresyl phosphate, chalk, kaolin, zinc white, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide, benzothiazyl disulphide, resin oil, light yellow, stearic acid, sulphur and rutile is vulcanized.ALSO:Titanium dioxide is added to synthetic or natural vulcanized rubber in a form which is shown by the crystallogram to be entirely or for the greater part rutile. In examples, natural crepe rubber or a copolymer of butadiene with acrylonitrile and rutile are compounded with substances chosen from sulphur, zinc white, stearic acid, mercaptobenzthiazole, hexamethylene tetramine, tricresyl phosphate, chalk, kaolin, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide, benzthiazyl disulphide and resin oil.
