Abstract
653,645. Lamp shades. HEPPEL, J. B. Feb. 25, 1948. No. 5673. [Class 75 (ii)] In a lamp shade or other hollow article sheets of flexible material (Fig. 1c) forming the side walls are held in bent position either by engaging hooks n on the edges of the sheets with slots formed near the edges of flat discs (Fig. 3b), or by inserting the bent sheets into apertures formed in the flat discs. The hooks may be provided on the flat discs and the slots in the flexible sheets as shown in Fig. 4 and a flap p may be provided on each sheet and folded outwardly backwards to form a groove into which the edge of the adjacent sheet is received thereby avoiding any light gap in the assembled shade. The flat discs may be of any desired shape and may have central apertures for fitting the shade to a lamp standard or on a lamp holder.
