Abstract
652,385. Sheeting and rolling-up dough. RECORD BAKERY EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd., and FOX, F. F., (formerly FUCHS, F. F.). Nov. 27, 1947, No. 31437. [Class 87 (ii)] A dough-moulding machine for sheeting and rolling-up dough pieces comprises, two pairs of contra-rotating rollers 2, 3 ; 8, 9, respectively, Fig. 1, the upper roller of each pair being eccentrically mounted to permit simultaneous adjustment of the bight between each pair, and two endless belts 21, 30 travelling in opposite directions where they face one another. The roller or drum 9 is journalled in the main frame 1, the end 9a of its axle carrying a gearwheel 12, Fig. 3 (not shown), rotated by a gear-wheel 13 on the driving shaft 14, while the axle 9b, Fig. 4, carries a triple sprocket wheel 15 which chain drives the roller 2, Fig. 1a, the drum 22 of the lower belt 21, and the upper belt drum 31. The rollers 3, 8 which rotate at different speeds are eccentrically mounted at each end by means of crank members 4, 10, having spur gears 4a, 10a, respectively, which gears are adapted to be rotated to adjust the eccentricity of the rollers by means of a worm 7, wheel 6, and toothed sectors 5, 6b, on the shaft 6a. The lower belt tension may be adjusted by a device 43, and may be tilted by a hand-lever 27a, Fig. 2 (not shown), attached to an arm 26 pivoted at 27 in the frame 1 which arm carries the lower drum 22. The upper belt may be tensioned by an arrangement of rollers 35a, 35b, Fig. 1, eccentrically mounted on a disc 35 having a gear-wheel 35c rotated by a worm 35d. A frame 34, pivoted co-axially with the axis of the drum 31, has an angular counterpoised lever 36, and bearings 33a, 33b for the roller 33 around which the upper belt 30 passes. The lower part 36d of the lever 36 has an elongated slot 36e, the upper end of which rests on an eccentric cross-member 37 pivoted in the main. frame 1 at 37a, Fig. 5 (not shown). This eccentric can be turned by a handle 37b and fixed in position by a clamp 37c. By turning the eccentric the frame 34 and upper belt 30 may be raised or lowered to adjust the distance between the belts 31 and 30. Adjustment of the counterpoise 36b secures a slight anticlockwise overbalance of the frame and its rollers with a resulting slight pressure of the belt 30 on the dough. The dough may be dusted with flour through a slot 41a from a flour compartment 41 by means of a rotary brush 40 driven by a chain 38 from a sprocket wheel 31b. Scrapers 42 are pivoted in the main frame 1 and biassed against the rollers by springs 42a. In operation, dough pieces are fed between the rollers 2, 3; and then between the rollers 8, 9, which have a smaller bight. From. this second pair of rollers the dough is fed on to the lower belt 21 contacting the roller 9, which belt in co-operation with the upper belt 30 rolls the dough pieces and delivers them to the plate 25.
