Abstract

652,345. Lift doors. MARRYAT & SCOTT, Ltd., HONEY, L. W., and SAWYER, P. T. Dec. 3, 1948, No. 31402. [Class 20(iii)] A lift door comprises two panels 1, 2, both of which are movable but one of which travels double the distance at double the speed of the other and telescopes therewith. The " slow panel 1 is solid and is suspended from rollers 5 moving on an overhead stationary track 4. The " fast " panel is hollow and is supported by overhead bearing members 13 which travel over the rollers 5 so that the rotary motion of the rollers, caused by movement of either panel, necessarily causes the other panel to move. As shown, the panel 1 is provided with an extension 10 to accommodate some of the rollers.
