Abstract

In making bread and like fermented baked goods there is incorporated in the dough 0.1-2 per cent (based on the flour content of the dough) of an edible animal or vegetable wax. Examples are concerned with bread from doughs of flour, salt, yeast and water containing white beeswax, sugar cane wax, candelilla wax, palm wax, and spermaceti dissolved in vegetable oil, and powdered white beeswax distributed in wheat flour, and with teacakes from a dough of flour, salt, yeast, sugar and skimmed milk or water containing white beeswax dissolved in vegetable oil.
