Abstract

651,106. Handle-bars. BOER, R. C. DE. Nov. 9, 1948, No. 29123. [Class 136 (iii)] In flexibly suspended handles for cycles and the like in which a flexible connection is provided between handles and stem consisting of a number of springy steel bars 1 carried through openings in a part 2 of the stem and rigidly jointed to the handles 8 at both ends, each of the bars at its middle portion is rotatably but non-slidably mounted in the stem. A set of bearing blocks 3 of low friction material are housed in the part 2 of the stem 2a. Spaces 4 are provided between the blocks to allow adjustment of clearance by means of a screw bolt 6. The outside bars are double bent to prevent longitudinal movement of the bars in the bearings.
