650,987. Automatic feed weighers. GLOVER, C. W. May 4, 1948, No. 12282. [Class 143] A rotary receptacle 1 is pivoted on counterbalanced arms 9 and is normally held from rotation by a pair of spring pawls 5 (one only being shown), which are adjustably secured to the beam and engage notches 37 or 38 in discs 7 disposed on each side of the receptacle, the arrangement being such that on receipt of a predetermined weight of material in the pocket 2, the arms tilt and engage pawls 5 with fixed abutments 18, so disengaging them from notches 37 and allowing the receptacle to rotate through a half revolution to discharge the load, after which the arms resume their chain dotted position and the pawls engage the notches 38. The eccentricity of the load in the uppermost pocket is adjustable by means of bolts 17 and slots 16. A counter (not shown), may be associated with the receptacle to indicate the number of weighings.
