649,226. Surgical operating appliances. MONTGOMERY, A. Y. Nov. 3, 1948, Nos. 28594 and 28595. Convention dates, Nov. 10, 1947, and April 14, 1948. [Class 81(ii)] A castrating or detailing ring is of rubber or similar material and has means for carrying a supply of chemical substance, either for healing the wound or for more rapidly destroying the tissue. In one form the ring 2 has an internal cavity 3 communicating with the inner surface through radially spaced ducts 4. In other forms there are provided one or more axial or circumferential channels which may be of square or dove-tailed crosssection. Alternatively the inner face, or the whole ring, may be made of sponge or perforated rubber. In a further modification, see Fig. 10 (not shown), the ring is further fitted with small cutting blades which perforate the skin so as to accelerate the treatment and, in this case the chemical containing cavities are set between the blades.
