Abstract

648,756. Discharge apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 14, 1947, No. 7145. Convention date, April 4, 1946. [Class 39 (i)] An adjustable support for an electrode comprises a member 7 supporting the electrode at one end and having at its other end an annular flange 10 shaped to slide between a pair of clamping rings 11, 12 shaped to form spherical surfaces. The clamping rings may be secured to member 15 by bolts 20 which are smaller than the apertures in the clamping ring to allow lateral adjustment as well as the tilt adjustment provided by flange 10 and clamping rings 11, 12. The support may be used for a grid 2 of a thermionic valve and member 15 may be sealed to the envelope to provide a ring connector for the grid 2.
