A moulded or die cast externally threaded part 1 has the thread in two or more sections 2, 3 tapered down at 6 to leave transverse gaps 4. This permits engagement with the nut even if the mould parts be somewhat out of register and avoids jamming due to the formation of a fin at the parting surface of the mould.
