Abstract

647,577. Stands. KNOWLES, F., and KNOWLES, M. Nov. 3, 1948, No. 28536. [Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Group I] The framework of a collapsable bath which can be disassembled and re-engaged to form a wash basin support comprises a pair of longitudinal frame members 1 with right-angled end portions 6 which are formed as sockets to receive the ends of U-shaped transverse members 7. Each frame member 1 comprises a pair of telescoping parts 8, 9, the part 8 having a reduced portion 10. To prevent relative rotation of the two parts they have complementary oblique-shaped engaging portions 11, 12. A transverse hole 13 and threaded hole 14 are provided in the parts 9, 8 respectively, When the longitudinal members 1 are separated they may be re-assembled to form a support for a wash basin, a pin 15 passing through,the holes 13, 14 to act as a pivot as shown in Fig. 1. Additional members 20 join the right-angled end portions 6. U-shaped side supports are provided in the body part 17 of the basin which engage in the parts 8, 9. The waterproof fabric of the bath may be formed with a pocket 4 to act as a soap holder and may have an outlet tap 5. According to the Provisional Specification the transverse members of the bath support are used to connect the right-angled members 6 in the wash basin support.
