Abstract

646,505. Electric selective signalling. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. Aug. 21, 1947, No. 23239. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1946. [Clase 40 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a receiver for a remote control system employing audiofrequency currents super-imposed on heavy currents, in which a synchronous selector is arranged to rotate in synchronism with a selector at the controlling station, false operation is prevented by a time lag device provided between a tuned receiving relay and the selector switch. In Fig. 1, relay E tuned by a condenser C to the controlling frequency energizes a slow to operate relay E1 and if the received signalling impulse is of sufficient duration a synchronous motor Sy driving the selector switch is connected to the power lines A, B, the motor circuit being maintained over an off-normal contact u until a contact arm D returns to its initial position. Impulses received whilst the arm D is rotating cause relays such as K1, K2 to operate according to the position of the arm when the impulses are received. Fig. 2 shows a similar circuit including a mechanical time lag device, comprising a bell-crank lever H which carries at its right-hand end a gear wheel R with a spring-controlled disc cam S attached. A coil K, when energized by relay E, swings the lever H and brings the gearwheel R into mesh with a gear-wheel Z driven by the synchronous motor, thus rotating cam S to operate the switch I, and connecting the arm D to the main B for the operation of relay K as before. Specification 494,792 is referred to.
