Abstract

496,422. Electric signalling systems. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. Oct. 12, 1937, No. 27649. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1936. [Class 40 (i)] Selective control is effected in accordance with the duration of the period between two interruptions in an alternating current, the first of which occurs when synchronous selectors at the transmitter and receiver are in their initial positions. The Specification describes a transmitter for use with the receiver described in Specification 494,792. The transmitter shown is provided with three push buttons D1-D3 for effecting operations at receivers E1-E3 respectively. When a button, say D3, is pressed, relay Z3 pulls up, locks and operates relay V over transmitting selector K<1> in the normal position. Motor S2 thereupon drives a timing switch K<2> which has alternate contacts connected together in two groups, and relay Y operates over group e<1> to open the control circuit to conductor B1 of the receivers whereby the receivers are started up on re-closure of the circuit by the release of Y when switch K<2> leaves an e<1> contact. When K<2> reaches an e<2> contact, X pulls up to disconnect all the push buttons, and S<1> is energized to drive the selector K<1>, the circuit of S<1> being maintained over off normal contacts f<1>. Relay V falls back and timing device S2, K<2> stops, but when selector K<1> reaches position 3, V pulls up again so that the circuit to the receivers is again interrupted by Y under the control of the timing device. The selector K<1> moves on until shortly before reaching normal relay W operates over contacts f<2> and releases Z3, and in the normal position, contacts f<1> open to stop motor S<1>.
