Oct 8, 1948, No. 26312 [Class 39 (i)] An X - ray tube has a rotating anode 3 connected to a rotating spindle 7 and an end shield 13 15 is located to screen the spindle from hea radiated from the anode, an externa flange 14 of the screen being located ad jacent the periphera edge of the anode so as to form an effectively continuous surface to reduce electrical stresses.
