645,049. Bayonet joint fastenings. WILSON, H. F., and FAIRYLITES, Ltd. Sept. 17, 1948, No. 24461. [Class 44] [Also in Group XI] In a battery lamp of the type having a tandem bayonet-joint connection between a cap 2 and a body portion 1, one of which is movable axially relative to the other for switching purposes, the locking-notch 11 in one side of the first peripheral slot 12a is arranged to underlie the other side of the said slot so that when either the cap or body is moved axially to release the pin 12 from the first locking-notch 11 such axial movement is arrested, with the two portions in a position permitting them to be turned in either direction for the purpose of closing the battery circuit or separating the cap and body by withdrawing the pin 12 from the axial part of the slot 10. In a modification, Fig. 3, the junction between the sides of the peripheral slots opposite the notches 11, 11a is parallel to the axis of the lamp, thereby providing a stop 13 for the pin 12 when the latter is moved from the " on " towards the " off " position. In a further modification, Fig. 4, (not shown), a similar stop is provided in part of the oblique side of the notch 11. Specifications 532,672, [Group XX], and 604,807, [Group XI], are referred to.
