644,963. Perforating by forging. CALDWELL, S. B., and HURLEY, E. Oct. 26, 1948, No. 22473. [Class 83 (iv)] Punches.-In forming countersunk holes in sheets, a punch c makes a hole larger than the size required and a countersinking punch d countersinks the upper edge of the hole and flows metal to a smaller diameter determined by a pilot pin d<SP>1</SP>. The punches are mounted on a head a secured to a press by spigot band engage a stripper f mounted on springs g. The stripper may be secured to a lower die.
