[Class 87(i)] In a building-block comprising an insulating core 1 of wood-wool and cement mortar and facing layers 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of cement mortar, the layer 2<SP>1</SP> is thickened at 6 to provide a pillar for supporting floor joists. The block is provided with grooves 3 in its side faces.
