Abstract
Gamma ferric oxide hydrate is produced by a process similar to that of Specification 640,438, except that ferrous chloride is used in place of ferrous sulphate. Additionally, to increase the yield, the cool slurry, after oxidation, may be again heated to 135-150 DEG F., and the aeration continued in the presence of scrap iron.
