Abstract

643,253. Repairing roads &c. BURGESS, A. J., and WRIGHT, A. A. Sept. 16, 1948, No. 24326. [Class 107] [Also in Group XI] A heated scraper for softening and removing bituminous materials comprises a vented box 1 of rectangular cross-section carrying a scraper blade 5 and housing one or more burners 10 carried by clips 12 on ignition trays 11. The box 1 is connected by a tube 7 to the main tube 8 of an operating handle 16, the tube 8 carrying an auxiliary handle 21 and a pressure fuel tank 9 with a pump 17, a relief valve 19 on a filler cap 18, and a stop valve 24. A modification, differing in detail, is described and illustrated in the Provisional Specification.
