Abstract

642,782. Frequency modulation. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Jan. 21, 1948, No. 1845. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1947. [Class 40 (v)] In a mixing detector circuit for frequency modulated oscillations comprising two coupled oscillatory circuits 3, 4 tuned to the central frequency of the frequency-modulated signal, to the first of which the frequency modulated signals are applied, the variably phase-displaced signals, 90 degrees out of phase for the central frequency, being each appliedto one of two control grids 6, 5 of a mixer valve, a third circuit 8 tuned to the central frequency of the signals is coupled to the second circuit to improve by its damping the linearity of the detector. A formula for the coupling and damping is given.
