Abstract

642,639. Suspending curtains. RUDD, F. Sept. 6, 1948, No. 23405. [Class 52 (v)] Curtain supporting apparatus comprises a length of flexible tape 1 which can be sewn to a curtain and is provided at regular spaced intervals along its length with components of runner devices which run in the T-shaped slot of a rail 3. One component of the runner device comprises a metal plate 4 which passes through the tape 1 and has a shank 5 which engages with a dished plate 6. The other component comprises a cup shaped socket 9 formed with a groove 10 housing a wire spring 11 which does not quite complete a circle. This spring receives the dished plate 6 of the first component and maintains a grip on it. The flange 13 of a plate 12 attached to the socket 9 engages in the rail 3. In a modification shown in Fig. 5 the runner is not separable and comprises a flanged tubular member 18 passing through the tape 1 and a sleeve 20 having a flange 21 which bears on the other side of the tape. A roller 22 with flanges 23 is fitted over the sleeve and bears on the rail. The roller is held in position by a second flange 24 on the tubular member 18.
