Abstract

642,273. Winding thread &c. COURTAULDS, Ltd. April 15, 1948, No. 10470. Convention date, April 16, 1947. [Class 120(ii)] In apparatus for winding thread &c. 11 on to a bobbin &c. 30 which is surface - driven by a roller 31, variations in the tension of the thread being wound are compensated for by providing a fluid coupling 20 between the driving roller 31 and the power source 21. The thread may be supplied by way of an advancing and treating reel 25. In a further modification described, the thread to be wound is delivered from an uptwisting device.
