[Class 146 (iii)] A pencil sharpener of the kind in which a razor blade is used comprises a base member A and an upper member B between which a razor blade C is held by screw means D. A tapered recess E is formed in an extension of the member A, one edge C<SP>1</SP> of the blade C extending into the recess. The blade C is positioned by stops F, G and H, the stop G being provided with a stop G<SP>1</SP> against which the lead abuts when the sharpening process is complete; the position of the stop G<SP>1</SP> is such that a truncated point to the pencil is formed.
