Abstract

641,144 Elastic-fluid turbines. BRISTOL AEROPLANE CO., Ltd. July 16, 1948, No. 19194. [Class 110(iii)] [Also in Group XXII] Blade-fixing means for compressors, fans, turbines &c. comprises a pin, projecting from the blade root into a hole in the blade carrier, secured by a deformable bush which is a driving fit in the hole and on to the pin. A stator ,casing 1 of an axial flow compressor is provided with grooves 10 to receive the roots 6 of blades 5 and taper holes into which project taper pins 13 integral with the blades. Deformable cylindrical bushes 14 are driven over the pins and into the holes to secure the blades to the casing.
