Abstract
638,914. Toy railways. EMTER, W. April 23, 1947, No. 10848. Convention date, March 3. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy railway comprises two carriages 12 arranged to run on rails 1 in the form of a circle and an oval, part of the circle coinciding with the oval, the carriages being propelled along one or other of the sets of rails by means of a two-arm lever 7 coupled to the carriages by links 10 and 11, rail switch points 2 being provided to enable the carriages to be run from one set of rails to the other. On a bridge piece 4 are mounted the switch points 2 interconnected by a control rod 5 and a rotatable gear wheel 6, driven by a handle 13 through a gear train, coupled to the lever 7 so that as the handle 13 is rotated the carriages 12 traverse either the circular or the oval track depending on the setting of the points.
