Abstract
<FORM:0638039/IV (b)/1> Compounds of the general formula of Fig. II, wherein R and R1 are hydrogen atoms and X1 and Y1 are substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkylene are prepared by condensing an aliphatic amidoxime with an acylacetic ester. Amidoximes specified are acetamidoxime, propionamidoxime, capronamidoxime, iso-capronanidoxime, lauramidoxime, myristicamidoxime, palmitamidoxime, stearamidoxime, malonic acid - bis - amidoxime, succinic acid - bisamidoxime, glutaric acid - bis - amidoxime, and p-benzenesulphonyl acetamidoxime derivatives. Esters of acetyl-, propionyl-, phenacetyl-, p-aminophenacetyl-, and dichloroacetyl-acetic acids and succinyl-bis-acetic acid ethyl ester may be used. Compounds where R is a bromine atom may be prepared by treating the above compounds with bromine, and compounds wherein R is -SO3Na by treating the brominated compounds with sodium bisulphite. Compounds wherein R is acyl or alkyl may be prepared by treating the sodium derivatives of the above compounds with an acid chloride or alkyl halide. 3-Methyl-5-acetonyl-1 : 2 : 4-oxodiazole is prepared by reacting ethyl acetoacetate with acetamidoxime. 3-Stearyl-5-acetonyl - 1 : 2 : 4 - oxodiazole, 3 - heptadecyl-5 - acetonyl - 1 : 2 : 4 - oxodiazole, and 3-pentadecyl - 5 - acetonyl - 1 : 2 : 4 - oxodiazole are similarly prepared. 3 - Heptadecyl - 5 - o - p - nitrophenylacetonyl-1 : 2 : 4 - oxodiazole and 3 - pentadecyl - 5 - o -p - nitrophenylacetonyl - 1 : 2 : 4 - oxodiazole (mixture) are prepared by condensing a mixture of the corresponding 5-acetonyl compounds with p-nitrophenacetyl chloride in presence of sodium ethylate and hydrolysing with a mixture of ammonium hydroxide and ammonium chloride. 3 - Heptadecyl - 5 - a - bromacetonyl - 1 : 2 : 4-oxodiazole and 3 - pentadecyl - 5 - a - bromacetonyl-1 : 2 : 4-oxodiazole (mixture) is prepared by brominating a mixture of the unbrominated compounds. The sodium salt of 3-lauryl-5-a -sulphoacetonyl-1 : 2 : 4-oxodiazole is prepared by reacting lauramidoxime with ethyl acetoacetate, brominating, and grinding with sodium bisulphite.
