Abstract
637,183. Pulse generating and delaying circuits. OXFORD, A. J. H., FISH, N. L. YATES-, and FORSHAW, H. W. March 25, 1947, No. 8107. [Class 40 (vi)] An output pulse is generated under the control of a decreasing and an increasing step waveform. By biassing the decreasing step waveform, a series of output pulses may be obtained. Positive pulses, Fig. 2a applied to Miller integrator valve 4, Fig. 1, cause the anode potential to fall in steps, the output being fed to phase-inverter valve 7. The outputs from cathode and anode are D.C. restored by diodes 13, 12 to give the waveforms, Figs. 2b and 2c. By using a clipper stage (not shown), a pulse may be generated at terminal I corresponding to the first step. The second pulse at terminal II is generated by feeding the anode output of valve 7 through diode 16 to terminal II and the cathode output over biassing resistor R1 and capacitor C1 to diode 17, the resulting waveform appearing as at Fig. 2d. The value of the combination R1, C1 is varied to give outputs at terminals III, IV and V, the output at terminal VI being obtained by clipping waveform, Fig. 2c. At the end of the downward steps, valve 4 is restored by transitron action.
