Abstract
635,894. Pulse generating circuits. NEWTON, E. P., (Telefonaktiebolaget L. M. Ericsson). July 12, 1946, No. 20943. [Class 40 (vi)] In an impulse generator for electric fences in which a capacitor is charged from a D.C. source via a resistor and discharged through a gas discharge tube, the connection to the fence being made through a transformer the discharge circuit is made of very low resistance so that the discharge in the tube takes place in the form of an arc instead of a glow discharge by connecting a capacitor in parallel with the primary winding of the transformer. The Figure shows a capacitor C1 charged from the D.C. source B which may be a rectified A.C. supply and discharged through gas-discharge tubes G1, G2. The fence L is connected to the generator circuit via transformer T, the primary of which is shunted by capacitor C2. The discharge current may be regulated by adjusting capacitor C2 and the discharge tubes may be of the cold-cathode type.
