[Class 37] In a transmission measuring system for carrier plants in which a high-frequency current is transmitted from one end to.a line at'low level, detected by a heterodyne and measured, the high-frequency current to be measured and the high-frequency current required for heterodyne detection and measurement are transmitted simultaneously from one end station. The required frequencies are obtained from a common oscillator, for example the master oscillator of the carrier system. The measuring sets do not require an individual source of highfrequency current for heterodyne reception and may be calibrated on site by means of the high-frequency current available in the carrier plant.
