Abstract

633,260. Mixing appliances. LOMAX, B. Feb. 10, 1948, No. 3856. [Class 86] A mixing device for insertion into a can of paint &c. comprises a worm 9 in a casing 6 which, when rotated by a shaft 13 from an electric motor, draws paint &c. up through the casing 6 and ejects it through openings 8 near the top of the casing. The worm 9 is provided at the top with vanes 10 which rotate with the worm; the openings 8 are provided in an outwardly flared portion of the casing so that the ejected paint &c. is projected downwardly. Small toothed grinding wheels 11 engage a toothed inner periphery 12 of the flared casing to grind any lumps in the paint.
