Abstract
633,080. Pivots. APPLETON, N. V. Nov. 12, 1946, No. 33552. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1945. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group X] In a louvre shutter assembly comprising louvre clips 5 secured to discs 3 journalled in channelled side supports 1 and having pins 14 pivotally connected with connecting rods 4, 4a (see Group X), the bearings for the discs are provided by flanges 12 on the inside of the supports to increase the surface area of the bearings. In the form shown in Figs. 2, 6 and 7, the front of each disc has pins 8 to be riveted to a clip 5 and pins 9 or a channel 10 (Fig. 13) for locating the clip. The pins 14 on the rear of each disc overhang its periphery so as to bear against the rim of flange 12. Cut-away portions 13 (Fig. 2) allow the discs to be inserted in holes 11 in the supports from the outside. In a modification (Fig. 13), the discs 3 are provided with flanges 16 which bear against flanges 12 and carry the pins 14.
