[Class 26] [Also in Group VI] A disinfectant container and diffuser for attachment to the underside of an ashbin lid h has a perforated peripheral wall a between the lid d and bottom b and a central perforated tube c secured to the inside of the bottom and extending up through the lid d, the top of the said tube being screw threaded to receive a cap nut f; arid preferably, a further nut e beneath the cap nut, which latter then acts as a lock nut. The space between the tube and the peripheral wall is filled with absorbent material such as ground firebrick, sawdust or cotton wool for absorbing disinfectant which may be poured through the tube c. The device may, for example, be cylindrical, hexagonal or of D shape.
