Abstract
631,140. Flexible cables. TELEFLEX PRODUCTS, Ltd., and PILE, S. June 10, 1947, No. 15296. [Classes 80 (i) and 80 (iii)] A flexible cable comprises a multi-stranded tension-transmitting core 5 with one or more compression-transmitting lays 6 wound thereon, the outer lay 6 being of double or other.multi start form and which has in the recesses between its turns an outer helical wire 7 of the same pitch and hand and which projects beyond the said lay so as to leave a groove 8 between its turns. The wire 7 may be of triangular, semi-circular or other cross-section. A helical wire 10 may be incorporated to enable the pitch of the wire 7 to be accurately determined. The cable may be used to transmit "pull and push," or it may form a rack or worm or like gear member. Specification 380,204 is referred to. Specifications 570,577, [Group XXX], 623,139 and 631,130, [both in Group X], are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
