[Class 106 (i)] In order to count the revolutions of a shaft a cam g on the shaft alternately closes contacts e, f which connect respectively half-wave rectifiers c, d to an A.C. source b, one rectifier producing half-waves of opposite sign from those produced by the other. The rectifiers are connected to a device comprising a rotor a adapted to be advanced by D.C. pulses of alternate polarity, the rotor driving a counter, not shown. A condenser h is arranged in parallel with the winding i of the device a.
