629,001. Abrasive tools. CALVERT, F. Dec. 24, 1946, No. 37920. [Class 60] In the manufacture of abrasive tools of the kind comprising a tool body with a covering of abrasive, the abrasive substance, e.g., powdered diamonds, in grain condition is coated with a magnetic material, e.g., iron, and is temporarily held on the body of the tool magnetically, pending the application of the permanent fixing coating of metal or other holding material. The grains are coated by electrodeposition or spraying; the coated grains and fixing coating are applied by spraying or dipping. The tool surface may be built up by alternating layers of abrasive and fixing coating.
