Abstract

A stable provitamin D preparation is obtained by mixing at least 30 per cent provitamin D with at least 20 per cent of antirachitically inactivatable sterols, e.g. cholesterol or that obtained from mussels. The provitamin D may also be antirachitically activated and the resulting vitamin D separated from the provitamin D with the assistance of inactivatable sterols, and the provitamin D sterol mixture intimately mixed with additional provitamin D in such quantities that the so-produced mixture contains at least 30 per cent provitamin D.
