Abstract
628,153. Agricultural implements. FERGUSON HOLDINGS, Ltd., H., FERGUSON, H. G., SANDS, W. J., and CHAMBERS, J. March 7, 1947, No. 6456. [Class 6(i)] [Also in Group XXXI] A tractor-implement combination, of the type wherein the implement is hitched to the tractor by laterally-spaced draught links, is provided with a pendulum device, the displacement of which, on a slope, may be correlated with the lateral displacement of the implement relatively to the tractor. The device is mounted on the tractor front axle 9 and comprises a T- shaped rod pivoted on an axis S-S oblique to the line of travel. The pivots 15 are carried in a U-shaped frame 14 laterally adjustable on the axle. The length of the pendulum may be adjusted by vertical movement of the rod relatively to the pivots. The pendulum may include a hydraulic damping device. The Provisional Specification also describes a vertical pointer which projects above the front of the tractor and is connected to a shoe sliding along a ridge or other preformed track. The indicator may also give audible warning of lateral displacement. Specification 320,084, [Class 6(i)], 471,801, 510,352 and 541,220, [Group XXXI], are referred to.
