627,225. Cylinders. McCULLOCH AVIATION, Inc. July 1, 1946, No. 19621. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1945. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke engine in which piston-controlled inlet ports are directed upwardly towards a point on the opposite side of the cylinder to the exhaust ports, inserts 25 carrying vanes 20 in line with the port bars are fitted in the transfer passages 13. Partitions 30 may extend downwards past flanges 31 which assist in directing the charge and further guiding ribs 26 may be provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also similar passages without inserts. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
