Abstract
625,375. Tanks. PLANTERS ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and SCHOFIELD, J. July 24, 1947, No. 19977. [Class 69 (i)] A locating device for the division plates in a coagulating tank comprises a comb-like structure 10, 11, adapted to lie in the tank with the teeth 11 inclined downwardly and inwardly with the free ends resting on the bottom of the tank and the longitudinal connecting member or back 10 located above and outwardly of the upper edge of the side of the tank. Two devices are placed as shown, the division plates 14 being inserted to fit between the teeth 11. Separate top locating means comprise bars 15 extending along the tank and resting between positioning members 16 on the end walls of the latter, the said bars carrying spacers 17 which pass between the division plates and hold their upper edges in position when the comb-like structures 10, 11 are withdrawn, so that the plates are properly located. The back may be of metal, e.g. aluminium, and of angle or channel section, or moulded of plastic in tubular form, or of wood. The teeth 11 comprise strips of substantially rigid material such as a moulded plastic material, wood or metal, each strip having a width equal to the desired spacing of the division plates, and are screwed to the back or secured thereto by an adhesive.
