[Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXXVIII and XL (c)] A variable inductance arrange - ment comprises a pair of coils 132, 134, mounted upon a rotatable disc and a pair of vanes 120, 122, rotatable coaxially with the coils, the vane 120 being constructed of iron and the vane 122 of brass. The coils 132, 134 form two arms of a Wheatstone bridge, which is unbalanced when the vanes are rotated away from the position shown and may be restored to balance by a corresponding rotation of the coils 132, 134.
