Abstract

622,340. Studs. MANTON, P. A. March 12, 1947, No. 6884. Convention date, April 15, 1946. [Class 43] A collar stud, constructed to prevent loss, comprises a base 1, stem 3 and head 4, the stem being formed, between the head and base, with an integral circular flange 5 notched at 6 to form two ends 7, and of greater diameter than the head 4 so that it cannot readily be pushed through a normal-sized stud hole. To fix the stud in position its head 4 is inserted in the stud hole, through which the flange 5 is then fed by engaging one of the ends 7 in the hole and then twisting the stud, so that finally the neck band lies between the flange 5 and base 1. The invention is applicable to studs having removable heads.
