[Class 108 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A snap-action device for use in an electric switch comprises a trifurcated blade spring having a centre leg 46 pivoted in a groove 52 in a lug 47, and the ends of the tension legs 41 remote from the face (contact) end joined by a transverse piece 42 pivoted in a groove 54 on a member 56, itself pivoted in a groove 53 in lug 47. Rocking of the member 56 by a cam 32 moves the outer legs 41 over the groove 52, but not beyond the grooves 53 so that a retractive force is always available. The travel of the cam 32 is limited by stops 57, 58 on the base to permit a slight overtravel beyond the operating position.
