Abstract

621,210. Electric coils. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and ROBERTON, J.S.P. April 10, 1946, No. 10993. [Class 35] A pair of electric coils are wound continuously on spools whose cheeks are flexibly connected together at one end. In one form as shown for telephone receiver coils, the thermoplastic spools 2, 2A are mounted on a mandrel 1 with a spacer 4 between them and a flexible strip 3 moulded integrally with their end cheeks. The coils are connected by a loop 6 carried on the strip 3 and secured by adhesive material 7. The spools are opened out for use as shown in Fig. 4 and the flexible strip may be buckled to reduce the space between the coils without damaging the connecting loop. In a modification, the flexible strip is made separately and secured to the spools by adhesive.
