Abstract
621,097. Discharge apparatus. SCOPHONY, Ltd.,. WIKKENHAUSER, G., and FRANKLIN, D. P. Feb. 11, 1947, No. 3996. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XL (b)] The removal of opacity centres formed in a screen of dark trace material by the impingement of radiant energy is carried out by dielectric heating. The crystalline material is mounted on a plate of glass, silicone or other material having a sufficiently high dielectric loss constant, enclosed between two electrodes, e.g. two metal grids of parallel wires, one disposed at right angles to the other giving a square ruling which may be utilized for the evaluation of oscillograms. Alternatively, the grids may be formed by ruling the glass plate on both sides and depositing a metal such as silver or platinum in the ruled grooves, or by depositing very thin metal layers on the two main surfaces of the plate, or having one surface ruled and the other surface bearing a continuous layer.
