[Class 35] [Also in Group XXIV] Mechanism for actuating the brush-gear of an electric motor either directly or through a relay, comprises a sprocket e on an operating shaft E with a chain connection d to the end C of a slotted lever A pivoted at B, and a sprocket p on an actuating shaft J having a chain connection j to a pin F which is adjustable in the slot of the lever A by a link G. Adjustment of the pivot H of the link G effects a variation in the motion transmitted from spindle E to spindle J, to vary the range of adjustment of the brush-gear to effect a speed variation.
